Tekton Minerals is a company specialising in Mineral Exploration, evaluation and project development; the company has a strong board and management team that have worked together for over 15 years and has proven experience in identifying, evaluating, attracting funding and developing mineral projects in sub Saharan Africa for a number of major international mining companies including the world class Simandou project in Guinea for Rio Tinto and the world class Zanaga Iron Ore project for Glencore formerly Xstrata.
Since it’s creation in November 2013, Tekton Minerals has focused it’s team of technical experts and experienced management on the identification, exploration and evaluation in highly prospective regions in Africa and Europe.
Tekton Minerals maintains aggressive exploration programs focused on new discoveries adding value to the project pipeline. The company is lead by an internationally recognised management team with an exceptional track record of the identification and evaluation of projects in Africa.
The vision of the company is the creation of new wealth for all stakeholders through responsible exploration and evaluation in emerging areas of Africa with significant potential for economic mineral discoveries.
TEKTON’S PROJECTS
TEKTON MINERALS HAS BEEN GRANTED THREE EXPLORATION AND TWO RECONNAISSANCE LICENCES IN CHAD AND HAS IDENTIFIED NEW OPPORTUNITIES IN VARIOUS COUNTRIES IN AFRICA.
Chadian Projects
During the year the company’s technical team have confirmed and defined 3 gold on the 5 Licenses using a combination of archive material, soil/stream geochemistry, remote sensing imagery interpretation, prospecting, geological mapping and rock sampling with significant outcropping gold mineralisations on the gold targets.
In all cases extensive outcropping gold mineralisation is structurally controlled and hosted in Precambrian schists and gneisses of the Sahara Craton. Within the 3 targets (Dorothe, Am Ouchar and Echbara), a significant number of rock chip samples have grades of over 10 g/t and up to 103 g/t Au over footprint of up to 4km2 giving the potential for a multi-million ounces resource.
High grade outcropping mineralisation with simple metallurgy provides the opportunity for low capex/opex short term start up optionally for early cash flow and shareholder return.
In addition to the gold mineralisation the projects portfolio contains several prospective graphite (with grades up to 18%Ct) and rare earth targets.

OUR PROJECTS IN DETAIL
REMOTE SENSING INTERPRETATION
The Ouaddaï area has been subjected to a Cretaceous seen an epeirogenic uplift which has resulted in the stripping off of the paleo-tropical weathering profile. As a result of this uplift rock exposure is relatively good with relative thin cover, which explains the relative distinctive good responses for different formations when using from the remote sensing data techniques such as ASTER
DRONE SURVEY
Tekton operates a senseFly drone for the acquisition of high resolution (centimetre accuracy) Digital Terrain Model (DTM) and aerial photography. Data from the survey has been used for reconnaissance mapping, regolith and structural interpretations and to calculate the volume of tailing dumps containing >10g/t of Au. resource estimations on tailing sites.
PORTABLE XRF
Tekton uses an Olympus Delta DP-4000 portable XRF (pXRF) for its soils sampling programmes to delineate mineralised targets. Orientation surveys with the pXRF indicated that certain path finder elements have a very good spatial relation to the gold mineralisation with limited dispersion (<20m). This semi-quantitative analytical method has produced quick on site results bypassing the expensive, time consuming laboratory process analysis.
GROUND GEOPHYSICS
The license areas are The thinly vegetated ground and and on the southern licenses the terrain is relative flat. These physiographical conditions terrain is has resulted in some high productivity ground magnetics and resistivity surveys.
FIELD GEOLOGY
Due to the epeirogenic uplift, paleo-tropical weathering profiles have been eroded thus exposing relative fresh rock. Although rock exposure is relatively limited it is sufficient for geological and structural mapping.
